How to Clean Smoke Out of Furniture

Step 1

Add about two cups of cold water and one tbsp. of dishwashing liquid to a pail.

Step 2

Use your cleaning solution and a clean cloth to clean any areas that have a stain from smoke. Do not rub the stain, but blot it away with the cloth.

Step 3

Rinse away the detergent solution with cold water and dry your furniture with a new cloth.

Step 4

Sprinkle baking soda all over your furniture upholstery. Let it sit overnight to absorb much of the smoke smell. Then, vacuum it up.

Step 5

Fill a spray bottle with two cups of water and one cup of white vinegar to make a natural deodorizer. Spray down your furniture with this mixture and let it dry.
