How to Clean a Shower Spout

Step 1

Turn off the water in the shower or bathtub. Use the wrench to remove the shower head from the wall. Turn the wrench to the left to loosen the bolts that hold the shower head in place.

Step 2

Fill a pot full of vinegar that will be deep enough to allow the shower head to be submerged completely. Place the shower head into the pot. Allow the shower head to soak for two to six hours.

Step 3

Remove the shower spout from the vinegar and rinse it under warm running water. Brush any stuck on deposits off of the shower spout with the toothbrush.

Step 4

Replace the shower head on the wall with the wrench. Turn the wrench to the right to tighten the shower head.
