Adorable: Peewee Footballers Don Suits to Support Teammate

Boys wear suit and tie to school to support teammate

It seems like every week there's another upsetting bully story being splashed across the headlines. But today, here's at least one story with a happy ending that we promise will warm your heart...

First, you should know a little something about 6-year-old Danny Keefe of Bridgewater, Mass. A fighter all his life, Danny suffered a brain hemorrhage shortly after birth that left him with a speech impediment. Though his doctors expected he'd suffer more severe physical and mental disabilities as a result, he has pretty much defied those odds ever since.

Still, Danny is a little different from the other kids. His speech impediment makes it hard for him to talk sometimes, and he's a lot smaller than all the other boys his age. He also has taken a liking to wearing a suit jacket and tie to school, which, as you know, isn't exactly the typical garb of a 1st grader. And that's exactly what caused him to get teased one day at his elementary school.

Only problem? Danny's friends roll pretty deep. And they were having none of that.

Led by 5th grader (and all-round awesome kid) Tommy Cooney, Enterprise News reports that all 45 members of the school's Peewee football team (of which Danny's the official "water coach") decided to don their own suit jackets and ties to school, too.

Pretty amazing, right? It gets better.

The kids even named the day "Danny Appreciation Day" and walked into school alongside Danny, suited up in solidarity.

“He’s such a good person," Tommy Cooney told WCVB News of Danny. "He doesn’t let it bother him. He goes on with his day. He’s a 6-year-old kid. We should all respect that."

As you can imagine, Danny's parents were incredibly touched by the whole show of support. "Tommy thought it was the right thing to do," said Mark Keefe, Danny's father. "He went ahead and did it, and 45 other kids stood by his side," he continued, in amazement.

Watch below as Tommy Cooney tells his local news station about why they made the statement, and meet the Man of the Hour, Danny Keefe, who is 100 percent adorable:
