One Direction to Appear on 'Sesame Street'

When it comes to lining up guests for long-running PBS series Sesame Street, the producers and writers want to engage the parents as well as the kids.

That's what executive producer Carol-Lynn Parente and head writer Joey Mazzarino said at the PBS Kids presentation at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Pasadena yesterday.

So what does that mean for the upcoming 45th season of the series? Lots of big-name guests that should appeal to little ones as well as their parents.

Moms Tina Fey and Claire Danes will make an appearance, as well as dads Taye Diggs and Usher. Seth Meyers, Ed Sheeran, Macklemore and Zach Braff will be there, too.

And for the kids?

A little group you might have heard of, One Direction will be singing What Makes 'U' Useful, a version of their hit What Makes You Beautiful that explains the different sounds of the letter "U."

Insert swoons and screams here.
