Last week, we told you about a heartwarming exchange on Twitter between megafan Riley Kovalcik and her inspiration, Derrick Coleman, who plays fullback for the Seattle Seahawks. Today, Coleman took the conversation offline and in person as he invited Kovalcik and her twin sister (plus their family) to the Super Bowl.
A little refresher: Kovalcik and her sister are hearing-impaired, just like Coleman—he's actually the only legally deaf player in the NFL. After finding this out and seeing him play on TV, the girls were so inspired that they wrote him a letter. Their father posted it to Twitter and after it went viral, Coleman saw it ... and wrote his own letter back. Adorable, right?!
Well, today, with the Super Bowl fast approaching, the girls were in an interview about their experience when they were surprised with a visit from the fullback, himself! After he invited the girls to the big game, the twins couldn't help themselves from giving the Seahawks player a big hug.
According to the girls' father, he said of Coleman, "He genuinely wanted to meet us. It was so touching."
One thing's for sure: Sitting just a few rows from the field, there will be no shortage of cheers from the Kovalcik family on Sunday!
