As if getting a snow day wasn't amazing enough, students at Durham Academy, a pre-K through 12th grade independent school in North Carolina, were treated to the news over YouTube yesterday, when two of the school's administrators invoked Vanilla Ice and the Olympics to get the word out.
Michael Ulku-Steiner, Durham Academy's head of school, donned ski goggles, as assistant head of school Lee Hark sported a knit Olympics-themed coat and rocked the announcement to the tune of Ice, Ice Baby.
"All right, stop. Collaborate and listen," Ulku-Steiner starts. "Ice is back, and the roads will glisten."
"Polar vortex has a hold of us tightly. Wind like a harpoon daily and nightly."
And the famous chorus? It goes something like this:
"No school, there's ice, ice baby. No school, there's ice, ice baby."
With admins like that, some kids might actually be sad that they're missing out on school today.
