A Tough Calculus Teacher's Unexpectedly Soft Side

What teachers had the biggest impact on your life? Were they tough on you? Did they demand respect? Or were they caring and understanding? Our guess? A little bit of both.

This math teacher at St. Francis High School in La Cañada, Calif., may seem tough on his students (OK, he is tough on them). "It drives me crazy when people say school should be fun," he tells CBS News correspondent Steve Hartman. "I mean it's nice if it could be, but you can't make school fun." A real charmer, right?
