Kate Winslet Drops Truth Bomb About Motherhood We Can All Relate To
byKaitlin StanfordMar 19, 2014
It's been a pretty big week so far for Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet. Not only was she honored with a star on the Walk of Fame Monday, but she's also been making the rounds of just about every talk show out there, while on her epic media tour for the much-anticipated film Divergent. And in her usual candid way, she's been reminding us all just how awesomely down-to-earth she is—Oscars and all.
On one of her talk show stops, she sat down with Jason Kennedy for the Today show, and opened up about the stress of having just a 6-week maternity leave before she had to leave her baby and head straight back to work. According to the actress, "pumping and acting, and pumping and acting" became the constant cycle of her daily routine. But no matter; as Kate declared to Kennedy, moms are pretty amazing.
"There's something really empowering about going, 'Hell, I can do this! I can do this all!'" she says. "That's the wonderful thing about mothers, is that you can because you must, and you just DO."
Yep, that about sums it up.

Kate also said some awesomely candid things when she swung by Ellen yesterday, admitting she pumped through the entire L.A. earthquake on Monday, and even divulged the real reason behind why she named her son Bear Blaze. (Which, let's be honest, we've all been scratching our heads over.)
