Writer, TV presenter and socialite Peaches Honeyblossom Geldof was found dead on Monday near Wrotham, Kent, according to BBC News. Geldof, who is the daughter of musician Bob Geldof and Paula Yates, has two sons with husband Thomas Cohen: Astala, 1, and Phaedra, who will turn 1 on April 24. She was only 25 years old.
"At this stage, the death is being treated as unexplained and sudden," the Kent Police said in a statement. Police were summoned to a Kent home after reports from neighbors of "concern for the welfare of a woman." The woman, reported to be Geldof, was later pronounced dead by South East Coast Ambulance services.
Geldof reportedly had struggles with substance abuse in the past, and lost her own mother to an overdose in 2000. "I remember the day my mother died, and it's still hard to talk about it. I just blocked it out. I went to school the next day because my father's mentality was 'keep calm and carry on,'" Geldof told Elle magazine in 2012.
"Peaches has died. We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us. Writing 'was' destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable?"
Geldof's last tweet was an Instagram photo with a caption that read: "just me and my mum."
