Hit and Run at Day Care Kills 1 Child, Injures More

A car broke through a wall at a day-care center in an Orlando suburb today, killing one child and injuring 15 others.

One car collided with another, which caused the second car to crash into the day-care center, according to The New York Times. The first car then left the accident, and authorities have identified him as 28-year-old Robert Corchado, who is a convicted felon.

The accident left a scene of devastation, as 12 children were among the 15 of those injured.

"What I saw, I can't take the picture out of my mind," Ronny Avellan, a nearby repairman, told the Times. "It was chaos everywhere. The vehicle was inside the day care, almost in the middle, and there were kids everywhere, on tables and running around. I saw one of the teachers giving CPR to a child."
