Teen Writes Fake College Rejection Letter to Girl, Turns out to Be Promposal

Teen writes fake college rejection letter for promposal

This week in ridiculous teen moments, some ill-advised kid penned a fake college rejection letter to his date-to-be, claiming that her admittance to the University of South Carolina was in serious jeopardy ... if she did not go to prom with her boyfriend. Ba-dump-bump!

At first read, the letter seemed pretty legit (except for a few typos), and was even printed on the school's letterhead. But once the panicked girl read to its end, she saw it was all in jest:

"It saddens us to say that your admission is in jeopardy, and we may have to pull our admission from you due to your poor school ethic and attendance. However if you were to just agree to go to prom with your boyfriend we could reconsider letting you continue to be a South Carolina Gamecock. So what do you say, will you go to prom with me?"

While we wouldn't advise this kind of tactic to one of our kids, it apparently didn't ruin his chances. His date, Caitlyn Metzker, immediately tweeted a photo of the letter, along with: "Oh my God, Dylan. Thank you for the heart attack." (So it's safe to say she said "yes.")

But any panic Caitlyn may have experienced has since been washed away—after several news outlets took note of her tweet. By the looks of Twitter, she is currently basking in the glory of being a viral sensation:

Hats off to you, Dylan, wherever you are.
