We're used to seeing birth announcements arrive in the mail a month or two after a new bundle of joy arrives. There, tacked to our fridge, the card will stay for months, showing off a cute baby who's sleeping soundly in some kind of weird basket. Name, birth date and poundage are all scrawled across in pretty letters.

But for Jodi Gholson Oliver, the birth announcement she sent out for her son came a little late ... like 18 years late.

To answer your first question up front: No, it's not because Jodi is the worst procrastinator ever. It's because her son, Jese, was really born her daughter. Or at least, that's what Jodi and her husband thought. But as she fully admits in a recent Facebook status, it seems they got it wrong. This year marks the first one where Jese can finally live openly as he was meant to: as a boy. And his mom is more than proud to shout it from the rooftops.

We couldn't have put it better ourselves.
