Mom Shows Us We've Been Going About This 'Grounding' Thing All Wrong

Meet Lynette: a busy mom of three, whose modest forays in Internet stardom have been the result of the awesome cakes she makes and later blogs about on Crazy About Cakes. But this week, parents everywhere are giving her a virtual slow clap for her now-viral chore chart, which she posted last week after it was a wild success with her three kids.
It all started after Lynette's kids—Ashley, Ryan and Adam—were late to school yet again. To creatively teach them a lesson about timeliness, Lynette drew up a list of chores. But this wasn't your typical list of chores. Each task (which ranges from taking out the garbage to writing a nice letter to a family member), had a points value beside it. To get ungrounded, the kids were informed that they must accomplish enough chores to earn them 500 points—each.
It wasn't long before Lynette realized she'd tapped into something. Something big.
As she later wrote on her blog:
"This worked out better than I could have ever imagined! My oldest son got right to work and earned his 500 points in one day. The other two are getting closer and working hard too! We had a nice dinner last night prepared by my son."
