5-Year-Old Comes to the Rescue After Mom Faints Behind the Wheel

It was without question a terrifying scene. Mom Ashley Drake was driving along a California road in her SUV a few weeks ago when, suddenly, she fainted. While she was lucky enough to have pulled to the side of the road before blacking out, there was one other problem: Her two kids were still in the backseat.

Thankfully, Drake's 5-year-old son, Caden, sprang into action. He hit the SUV's OnStar button and immediately explained the situation to the emergency call service operator who answered.

"What's mommy doing?" the operator asked.

"She's crying and she has her eyes closed," Caden replied.

While the operator kept both kids calm, police were alerted to the car's whereabouts, thanks to OnStar's vehicle tracking system. Within minutes, help had arrived.

While mom came to not long after (it was apparently her medication that had caused her to black out), the kids were given some goodie bags from the cops, and we're guessing Caden got more than a few pats on the back for his quick thinking and bravery.
