Even Louis C.K. Hates the Common Core

If you're not exactly a big fan of the Common Core, you've got a new ally: Louis C.K. The funnyman took to Twitter Monday night to vent a little about his kids' struggles with math homework lately (and, as a result, his own struggles with helping them), and laid some pretty overt blame at the feet of the Common Core's teaching methods.

He tweeted:

Not surprisingly, his tweet earned him quite a bit of support, with thousands of favorites and retweets, and plenty of responses from other irate parents and teachers, too.

But Louis's vent-session didn't just end there. He even tweeted some photos from his kids' latest homework assignments, to prove that the Common Core's line of questioning is just too confusing and convoluted for kids (and some parents) to follow.

Then he asked a question of the Universe many parents out there have been wondering, themselves: who's sitting in a room somewhere writing these involved math questions... and do they even understand them?

Louis even admitted that sometimes, he tells his kids to just not answer something that doesn't make sense.

An hour later, though, the comedian came down off his soap box by putting the conversation to rest–but not before he shared some very honest words on an issue that's hanging over parents, kids, and teachers across the country right now: our heightened focus on standardized testing.

What do you think? Do you agree with Louis on this one?
