Hero Cat Who Saved Boy Makes His 'Today Show' Appearance; Boy Sleeps Through the Whole Thing

Brave cat saves 4-year-old from dog attack

This week, we were all captivated by Tara the fearless tabby cat, who bravely defended her 4-year-old owner, Jeremy, against an attacking dog by promptly kicking its butt. Racing towards her human, Tara body-slammed the dog just as he bit into the boy's leg, chasing him off for good.

The incident was all caught on security footage, which was released Wednesday morning and soon went viral. By afternoon, the two were Internet stars, and had landed themselves on the local news in their hometown of Bakersfield, Calif.

But how do you know your story has really hit it big? You're booked for a morning interview on "The Today Show."

Come Thursday morning, Tara was all ready for her close-up with Savannah Guthrie. Little Jeremy, not so much. It seems that was way too early of a wake-up call for this kid, who proceeded to sleep through the entire thing in an adorable fashion. (Being rescued is tiring, too, it seems.)

Luckily, mom and dad stepped in to chat with Savannah Guthrie, who had them recap Tara's heroic acts, and all the events that unfolded afterwards. (Honestly, who we really want to hear from is Tara!)
