The hero who saved the little guy has been identified only as Mr. Li, and was apparently walking by the apartment complex in a rainstorm when he spotted the boy toddling towards a window ledge above. According to Li, the baby seemed to be looking for his mother.
Just the thought of watching a baby fall from a window is enough to make our stomachs drop. But without missing a beat, Li walked up to the building, stood below the ledge and, with outstretched arms, caught the baby before he fell to the ground. The dramatic scene went down in Zhongshan City, China, and ended when Li handed the baby over to its mother, who was beyond grateful (to say the least).
“Some people put down cardboard to avoid serious injuries to the baby if I fail to catch him,” Mr. Li told CCTV. “I didn’t think too much at the time. I was just afraid of failing to catch him. It was nothing but human instinct to do so.”
