The Addictive New Game Your Kids (and You) Will Be Playing All Summer

Still mourning the loss of Flappy Bird? Not to worry — there's a new time-wasting app game in town, and it goes by the name of "Timberman." Smartphone gamers, get ready to fill that "Flappy Bird" void (and then some).
The must-have game has already taken over the App Store, according to App Annie, which noted that it's now in the top five app games overall and the most downloaded game in eight countries. And while kids are loving its challenging-yet-simple premise, so are adults, who now have a new way to waste time on line at the grocery store, commuting to work and more.
So how does it work? As with most insanely addictive games, it's incredibly simple and easy to get into. Playing the roll of the lumberjack, it's your job to cut down a (seemingly never-ending) tree in each round by tapping on either side of the trunk. Making matters difficult, though, are the incoming branches that arise as you chop down the tree. While that may not sound like much of an obstacle at first, the challenge comes in trying to determine just how close those descending branches really are to your character before getting hit with one.
Apparently the app was released in May, but thanks to being highlighted as the App Store's recent Editor's Pick, it has been downloaded some 1 million times in the last three days alone.
