Mom Writes Touching Letter to Son After He Comes Out

Coming out to your parents is never easy. But when you're 13 years old? That takes a particular kind of courage.
But for a certain middle schooler named Connor, it's a pretty good thing he has one awesome mom. Not only did she take the whole thing in stride, but she even wrote him a supportive note afterwards, just to give him "something tangible" to hang on to. Oh, and also to let him know that she loved him and that everything was going to be A-okay. (Which is pretty much a kid wants to hear at a moment like that.)
"I'm proud we have the kind of relationship in which you felt comfortable coming out to me at 13," she wrote in the letter, which we first spotted over on Elite Daily. Needless to say, it has now gone viral.
"I am hoping that we have created an environment in our house in which you know you are loved, you are safe, and that we will support you and fight for you," it goes on. (Getting teary yet? We are.)
Mom ends it all on a cheerful note, saying that she can't wait to see where the future takes her "amazing young man."
We're thinking he's going to some pretty great places, with a support system like that.
