When your kids are super little, keeping up the Tooth Fairy/Santa Claus/Easter Bunny ruse can be a walk in the park. But once they hit elementary school? Watch out, Mom and Dad—their sleuthing skills can get pretty advanced, and it's only a matter of time before the jig is up.
Such was the case for the well-meaning parents of a 9-year-old named Lexi, who recently shared on Reddit how their third-grader totally busted them.
The harsh truth was exposed in a letter Lexi penned, in which she broke to them not-so-gently what she's been well-aware of for some time now: The Tooth Fairy is not the "Tooth Fairy," after all—she's Mom and Dad. (Gasp!)
And you know what? While she's at it, she might as well come clean about some other cold hard facts she's turned up in her investigation: There's no Santa Claus or Easter Bunny, either! (Double gasp!)
As Redditor willsanderson wrote in his post, the note was carefully placed on Lexi's pillow for Mom and Dad to find. We're betting they felt pretty silly for keeping up appearances for so long.
