Matthew McConaughey Accepts Award with Daughter on His Leg

Forget that Oscar sitting on his mantel or all the acting accolades he's received over the years—it's no secret that Matthew McConaughey's favorite role so far is the one he plays at home: dad. In fact, the actor recently opened up about the joy of fatherhood to GQ, saying that being a dad is "the one thing I've always wanted to be."

"Never is a man more of a man than when he is the father of a newborn," the dad of three added. "You know what's important. I definitely got more selfish. And at the same time, I think I got more compassionate."

So it probably comes as no surprise that on October 21, while accepting another golden statue at the 28th Annual Cinematheque Awards, the proud papa skirted convention and let his daughter, Vida, come up on stage with him.

The moment wasn't exactly planned, but man was it adorable. Four-year-old Vida reportedly ran up to give her dad a hug in the middle of his speech, and promptly attached herself to his leg in one of realest dad moments ever.
