Kim Kardashian Tries to Break the Internet (NSFW)

Kim Kardashian tries to break the Internet with controversial photos

Unless you've avoided all forms of social media in the last 24 hours, chances are you've seen those photos of Kim Kardashian by now. But for those who somehow missed them clogging up their feed, allow us to catch you up.

The reality star/entrepreneur/better-half of Kimye recently posed for a provocative photo shoot for Paper magazine, in which French photographer Jean-Paul Goude revisited one of most his famous snapshots: a nude model balancing a champagne glass on her derriere.

The original looked something like this:

Of course, Kim went and showed all that up with this photo, which now graces Paper mag's Winter 2014 cover:

"And they say I didn't have a talent," wrote Kim, when she shared it on Twitter. "Try balancing a champagne glass on your ass. LOL #BreakTheInternet #PaperMagazine"

But that photo, while impressive, wasn't the one everyone started talking about. Oh no, the one that perked up everyone's ears and sent Reddit into a tailspin was this pic, shared by Kim herself:

Ironically, the Internet wasn't so much "broken" as it was totally inspired.

Almost instantaneously, Photoshopped versions of the image started cropping up everywhere.

But our favorite response by far came from Chelsea Handler, who responded in her typical, Chelsea-Handler-esque way. With her own (un-Photoshopped) butt:

"Can you believe more than 2 ass can fit on the same screen?" wrote Handler. "Guess which one's real. Your move, Instagram."

Meanwhile, a flood of comments continued to storm Kim's Instagram—and they definitely ran the gamut. ([Sic] throughout.)

"If only her waist wouldn't be so disgustingly photoshopped," wrote angerina_.

"Beautiful, ignore the haters their just jealous. :)" wrote kimmymac14.

Others admonished the reality star for posing provocatively after having a baby.

"You're a mommy baby girl something's just stop after becoming a mommy," wrote pdxlips86. "Sweety this is not a good decision at all. [You] will grow up one day."

"I just don't understand when it ever became classy or acceptable to get your bits out for the whole world to see?" wrote katiemcnally_. "It's such a shame, I loved the Kardashians but they all seem to be changing and not for the better."

But to quiet some of the haters, Instagram user brookeasht responded with this truth bomb: "What famous actress/ Singer with a big ass hasn't posted a racy photo of it? I would rather explain to my daughter years from now when she's old enough to understand, that I have a beautiful body, I modeled for the cover of a magazine showing off my beautiful curves and that is that. #GetItKim"

Today will likely bring even more conversation, after Paper released one more jaw-dropping shot from the shoot—a full-frontal nude.

What do you think of the photos?
