Little Girl Is Unimpressed by Gendered Toy Sign

Little girl is not happy about gendered signs in the toy aisle

You'd think that by now, most stores and toy companies would have caught wind of the fact that advertising superhero toys as strictly for boys is not cool. After all, there are plenty of little ladies out there who also love pretending to be caped crusaders. (Just ask this 7-year-old named Leanna, who declared October 1 "Superheroes Day" in her hometown.)

But apparently, this news hasn't reached all ears. And a little girl named Maggie has set out to let them know she is not cool with it.

Like, really not cool with it:

Seeing that sign at the store would probably lead us to make the same face, too, but Maggie's unfiltered anger, captured in one simple photo, is awesome—and downright adorable.

"She spotted the sign before I did and pointed it out to me by indignantly saying something like, 'Well, that's wrong! Anybody can like superheroes! They're being stupid, aren't they?'" her mom, Karen, shared with BuzzFeed.

In the days since the photo was first shared on Twitter, it's earned over 10,000 retweets and more than 11,000 likes. As a result, it's even prompted some action from the folks at Tesco.

"This alarm clock would make a great gift for both girls and boys. The sign has been removed and we're sorry if it caused any confusion," a Tesco spokesperson told BuzzFeed.

Go Maggie!

In case you're wondering what the 7-year-old is doing when she isn't out championing for gender equality, she's apparently saying awesome things that her mom keeps track of on a tumblr blog, Things Maggie Says. We urge you to check it out.
