In case you somehow missed it, LeBron James is really into the British royals. Like really, really into them. Not only did the Cavaliers forward make headlines for giddily posing with Will and Kate after Monday night's Cavaliers-Nets game; but he was also busted for reportedly breaking royal protocol by putting his arm around Kate. (Who many said looked super-duper uncomfy about it, but for the record, we tend to think she played it cool.)
The basketball star then took to his own Instagram and posted a slew of photos from the exciting meeting, writing: "This very moment will be forever remembered and put up in my house. It's all good and all smiles on this side. #Royalty #StriveForGreatness #RWTW #LRMR #Klutch"
In other words, he was pretty psyched about it all.
But now, Lebron has kicked his royal fever up one notch: by photoshopping a Cavaliers jersey onto a photo of little Prince George. Oh, yes.
James shared the photo with his 7.9 million+ Instagram followers December 10, along with the caption, "My lil guy Prince George was excited about our win last night as well so he wanted to run around this am. Lol. #Royalty #StriveForGreatness #TheLand." The b-baller had actually gifted the pint-sized jersey to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge when they met following the December 8 game, but apparently couldn't wait to see what it looked like on the world's most adorable 16-month-old. Guess we can't blame him, there.
Oh, and as for that arm-touch-heard-round-the-world Monday night? A source close to the royals has since confirmed that it was no big deal after all. According to Us Weekly, the source said "no offense was taken at all" and that "there is no such thing as set protocol. It is always suggested that people act in a way that is comfortable to them. [The Duke and Duchess] really enjoyed last night's game and were delighted to have the opportunity to meet LeBron James."
