But just one day after its debut, the video ad has gotten more than 7 million views, plus a claim on the adorable hashtag #BestBuds.
The first puppy crossover ad for Budweiser went live in 2014. Now reaching the one-year anniversary of its introduction, it has a whopping 56 million views on YouTube. That spot was also the 2014 Ad Meter winner, a U.S. advertising honor that Anheuser-Busch has received 12 times in the past 14 years.
The Clydesdale is no doubt majestic and memorable. It's strongly associated with the Budweiser brand, paving the cobblestone way for kids to associate that cool horse on TV with America's favorite beer. But Anheuser-Busch has taken its game one step further with a simple formula: Add a puppy to something, and you're pretty much guaranteed success.
