American fashion designer Donna Karan is legendary for her eponymous fashion line, DKNY. Her simple pieces are brilliantly designed to work beautifully with each other, creating a fully wearable mix and match wardrobe.
Now, she's using her design skills to raise awareness about gun violence.
The bracelets were debuted at the "Not One More" event at Urban Zen, hosted by Karan, Lise Evans and Michael Bloomberg. The event was create to raise awareness about gun violence prevention.
Organized by Everytown for Gun Safety, Urban Zen and Americans for Responsible Solutions. In addition to simply raising awareness, "Not One More" outlined specific steps made to end gun violence and save lives.
Karan's bracelet comes in two versions. The leather bracelet is stamped with the rallying call of the movement: "Not One More". One $30 version made in Haiti with a gold clasp is available at Urban Zen stores in New York and Colorado, online, and at the DKNY Madison Avenue store. The second version has a silver clasp and is available with a $25 minimum donation to Everytown for Gun Safety.
Karan believes that the solution to ending gun violence is simple. “Every problem has a solution and I believe the solution to our nation’s gun problem is to join all of our voices and talents together — from political leaders to gun violence survivors and the designers, musicians, actors, models, producers, directors and hoteliers who came together to launch the bracelet — and for each of us to use our influence to say loud and clear: Not One More," Karan told WWD.
What better excuse to accessorize than to do it for an incredible cause? We're excited to rock the bracelets.
