Wyoming mother and widow Shelly Golay was shocked when she received a bouquet of flowers on Valentine's Day that were sent from her late husband Jim.
"I thought the kids sent the flowers to begin with," she said.
But as KEYE reports, the flowers did come from Jim, who died last February from an inoperable brain tumor. Knowing his time was short, he called up a local flower shop and arranged for his wife to get fresh flowers from him every Valentine's Day for the rest of her life.
"Basically he had called and set it up before he passed and what it's going to be is, every Valentine's Day, just some of her favorite flowers—the assorted roses, mixed colors things like that—every [Valentine's] day until she dies," florist Jessie Row said.
Golay said the gesture is a testament of her husband's love, and that she plans to preserve this year's flowers to remember the day forever.
"It was true love and you just don't find that very often, you know, the fairy tale romance, the knight in shining armor, you just don't find that," she said. "And even though we didn't get the fairy tale ending, it was amazing."
