In what may be the best PSA ever, late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel interviewed a group of real medical professionals about why everyone should vaccinate their kids. He even gets the doctors to cuss on camera in frustration over parents who oppose the life-saving, preventative treatment.
Remember how you never got polio? Yeah. That's because you got a vaccination for it.
But in typical uninformed fashion, a bunch of vaccination naysayers hit back at Kimmel with some really rude tweets. One of the less egregious ones is shown below:
So how does Kimmel respond? By making another video poking fun at the ridiculousness of this whole debate.
"My daughter is almost 8 months old. She got her booster shot this morning," Kimmel says. "I've become more aware of the fact that some parents don't believe in vaccinating their kids, which is something that the overwhelming majority of the medical community recommends."
Even in the face of public criticism, Kimmel stuck to his original message.
"Some are demanding that I apologize, which I of course will not do," Kimmel says. "This is a hot-button topic that shouldn't be a hot-button topic anymore."
