Feminist Messages on Pads Go Viral

Want to get someone's attention? A strategically placed pantyliner is sure to do the trick. After all, that's what a young German woman is doing to spread her feminist messages, and plenty of people have taken notice.

As BuzzFeed reports, Elonë of Karlsruhe, Germany (in the southwest, near the French border), is posting tidbits of wisdom around her neighborhood:

Elonë credits the quote "Imagine if men were as disgusted with rape as they are with periods" to Twitter user @cutequeer96.

Now, the effort to bring attention to women's equality via pads has gone viral. People in places like the United States, Brazil, Sweden and Albania are also posting feminism messages around town and sharing the images on social media.

Elonë supports others sharing their feminist messages in cities around the world, and asks for people to tag photos to help spread the word that “feminism means equality, not men hate.” Since her initial pad post went live on Tumblr, it's been shared more than 100,000 times, according to BuzzFeed.
