'Frozen 2' Is Happening

Disney officially will not "Let It Go."

The movie studio announced plans for the "Frozen" sequel at its annual shareholders meeting today in San Francisco.

Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, who directed the original 2013 film, are both onboard for the sequel and are working on the project for Walt Disney Animation Studios.

“We enjoyed making 'Frozen Fever' so much and being back in that world with those characters,” said John Lasseter, chief creative officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios. “Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we’re taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that.”

While our kids probably could have told us that this would be happening, it's not too shocking, considering "Frozen" won the Oscar for best animated feature film and raked in more than $1 billion at the box office.

Not only that, but the "Frozen Fever" short film will play ahead of "Cinderella," which opens March 13.

A release date and production details are yet to be announced.
