Supermodel Gisele Bundchen Quits the Catwalk

She's the world's highest-paid fashion model, but Gisele Bundchen is leaving the catwalk behind for the most important job of all: motherhood.

At 34 years old, Bundchen says she's retiring from the catwalk to spend more time with her family. That includes her husband, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, and their two young children.

The lucky spectators at São Paulo Fashion Week in Brazil are the ones who got to see Bundchen take her final stroll.

"It's very sad because Gisele is the best model in the world," said one attendee. "I understand—everyone understands—that it's the right time to have a moment to herself and to her family, but for the fashion world it's awful. Very sad."

Another spectator noted, "Gisele opened up a lot for other models. She simply killed it once again on this catwalk. It was very emotional to see her last catwalk. I loved it."

But don't feel bad for Bundchen. She earned $47 million in the past year alone, and still has design deals and contracts with fashion labels.
