'Talking Tom and Friends' Makes YouTube Debut

Actors (and dads!) Colin Hanks and Tom Kenny celebrated at YouTube Space LA last night as the first episode of their new animated show, "Talking Tom and Friends," premiered on YouTube and the YouTube Kids app yesterday.

Based on Outfit7 Limited's mobile app franchise of the same name, the YouTube series follows the adventures of Tom and his friends as the group makes their own show in Tom's garage/app studio.

The 52-episode series kicked off with its first 11-minute episode "Untalking Tom." In the debut episode, the gang is working on an app-design contest, "So You Think You Can App," when Tom's voice goes. With money to lose, what will Tom and his friends come up with?

The episode, which is embedded below, has been viewed nearly 3 million times since it launched yesterday.

In addition to Hanks (pictured top left, "Fargo") and Kenny ("SpongeBob SquarePants"), the series also features James Adomian (pictured top right, "Gravity Falls"), Maria Bamford ("WordGirl") and YouTube star Lisa Schwartz ("Not Cool").

New episodes air each Thursday.
