Professor Holds Crying Baby and the World Goes Wild

What would you do if you were teaching a class and a baby started crying? Well, when 67-year-old Professor Sydney Engelberg, a professor of social psychology at Hebrew University in Jerusalem — and a grandfather of five — heard the baby of one of his students crying, he just did what came naturally to him and impressed the entire world in the process.

Engelberg, who often encourages his students who are moms to bring their babies to class with them (and breastfeed!), was unfazed when the aforementioned babe started fussing. And when the mother made a movement to stand up and exit the class, he quickly took the baby in his arms and kept on lecturing about organizational behavior like it was no big deal. The professor's daughter, Sarit Fishbaine, posted a picture on Instagram of her dad holding the content infant with the caption, "That's what I call 'organizational behavior'!" Her sweet pic quickly went viral, and since its post date on May 11, has garnered more than 50,000 Facebook likes and dozens of love letters, according to his wife.

He is now being lauded as a type of feminist hero, with one Imgur commenter noting, "I can't even begin to imagine how much that probably meant to [the mom] — knowing that someone valued her education and supported her that much." Another commenter praises, "If only we could all behave that way to each other. Care for each other and treat each other with respect and kindness."

Engelberg himself seems nonplussed by all of the sudden attention. He tells Yahoo! Parenting, "The reason is that education for me is not simply conveying content, but teaching values. ... How better than by role modeling?"

You know what they say, it really does take a village to raise a child!
