Last night's CFDA awards in New York City was a big moment for fashion. Among our favorite winners was Betsey Johnson, who received the
Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award.
"I am overly very happy that it's over—I get nervous
about speeches," Betsey Johnson told Style magazine. "It was the best
awards ceremony I have ever been to, and I have been to a lot of them. Now, is
there anywhere I can get some champagne?"
What can be better than receiving an award like this? How about receiving
it with your daughter and two gorgeous granddaughters by your side.
designer Johnson rocked the red carpet with her stunning daughter Lulu and
granddaughters, Ella and Layla, while wearing a prison-striped jumpsuit, studded booties and some over-the-top jewelry. Did you expect anything less
from this exotic fashionista?
Johnson is known for the infamous cartwheel and split she performed at one
of her runway shows with her granddaughters. What better place to reenact her
gymnastic skills than on the red carpet en route to receiving her award?
career, Johnson has been recognized for her punk-pretty pieces that have taken
over every teenage girl's closet. This award, marking a new stage in her life,
is pushing her to become the ultimate mom/grandma. In an interview on AOL,
Johnson mentions that she wants to be as much with her family as she is
with her work.
like the perfect work-life-family balance to me! Congrats, Betsey Johnson!
