Tumblr’s Transgender Community Creates Own Vanity Fair Covers

My Vanity Fair Cover is a trans pride blog created to show the wonderful variety that exists within the transgender community.

After Caitlyn Jenner's cover story, trans people have decided to create their own Vanity Fair covers with themselves as the stars. The blog celebrates trans people in all forms, especially those not "wealthy enough or lucky enough to adhere to white, cis-normative beauty standards," according to the blog.

The blog's creator "felt frustrated and useless and overwhelmed by opinions on transgender women and how we're 'supposed' to look if we want to be taken seriously."

This trans pride blog was created to showcase the wonderful variety that exists within the transgender community, above and beyond what we're shown in the mainstream media.

Caitlyn Jenner has definitely brought more attention and acceptance to the transgender community, especially for some kids who have felt comfortable enough to be their true selves thanks to her bravery.

Each shared photo features the iconic Vanity Fair title treatment, and a cover quote, where the stars ask to be called by the names they want.
