High School Seniors Perform Flash Mob During Graduation

Shake it off, indeed! High school seniors took the sentiment to heart during their graduation ceremony at Portsmouth High School.

Superstar singer Taylor Swift's hit song "Shake It Off" was the soundtrack for the senior class' flash mob. More than 200 students performed the routine.

The massive undertaking was orchestrated by valedictorian Colin Yost, who kicked off the flash mob when he ended his speech with "all you have to do is shake it off."

Yost's friends helped him with the music and choreography for the routine. They set up a secret video on YouTube with instructions for the choreography for all members of his graduating class.

"I've always wanted to do a flash mob and I thought graduation would be the perfect place because our class is very cohesive and doesn't really have a lot of cliques," Yost told MTV News.

After gaining approval from the administration, the senior class took the time to practice together during scheduled graduation rehearsals.

"As we practiced, the energy was just building and everyone was feeling how great it was to work together and send this positive message," Yost said.

The flash mob was a giant success, surprising the entire audience full of family and friends.
