Jeff Goldblum welcomed his first child with wife Emilie Livingston Goldblum over the weekend, and it's a boy!
"We're so excited to share the wonderful news of the birth of our son, Charlie Ocean Goldblum, born on the 4th of July. Independence Day," Jeff posted on his Facebook page.
The first-time parents were married last November, and Jeff announced his impending fatherhood while visiting "The Late Show With David Letterman" in January.
"It's a boy," he told the talk-show host. "We picked out a name, as a matter of fact." (Turns out the couple changed their mind. Jeff told Letterman that their little guy would be named Elliott Charlie.)
Right now Jeff is filming "Independence Day: Resurgence," according to People magazine. That film should have a particularly special meaning to the new dad, given that his son was born on the holiday.
Congrats to Jeff and Emilie, who happens to be a contortionist. That should definitely come in handy for negotiating bulky diaper bags, pacifiers that seem to roll under every piece of furniture and the actual baby.
