Are You a Mom Who Hates Her Job?

Do you hate your job and long for the moment when you can be home with your kids, playing around and learning about their day? While being a stay-at-home mom may not be an option for all of us, there is a way to make your job a little more bearable.

Kerry Hannon, author of "Love Your Job: The New Rules for Career Happiness," says there are a few things you can do to make the days at work a little easier.

1. Declutter your office to determine what is and is not important to you.

2. Ask for new responsibilities to change things up in the office and avoid boredom.

3. Learn something new. For example, take a development program or get accredited for something.

"Often, that is an internal thing. You're not reaching out. But, you know what? Your boss may be a jerk, your co-workers may make you miserable and there's nothing you can do. You've got to make a change," Hannon tells Time.com. "It's something that you know inside yourself. You try these avenues, these steps so you can get through your days and find joy in the moments of the day—but in fact start building your plan ... Start investigating where might you move. What are your opportunities?

Hannon notes that it's time to start networking "so that you can strategically plan to find a job that you love."

All in all, Hannon offers steps that can make the days go by quicker so that you can get home to your little ones for some fun time. After all, they're the reason you work so hard in the first place, right?
