They were one of Hollywood's longest-running couples, but after 18 years together, and months of speculation on the status of their relationship, "Mad Men" actor Jon Hamm and actress/screenwriter Jennifer Westfeldt have confirmed that they are no longer together.

The couple released a statement to People magazine, "With great sadness, we have decided to separate, after 18 years of love and shared history. We will continue to be supportive of each other in every way possible moving forward."

The couple began dating in 1997, but never got married and have no children. Hamm completed a stay in rehab for alcohol addiction earlier this year and publicly credited Westfeldt for supporting him. They were last seen together at the afterparty for "Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp" in late July.

From Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner after 10 years, to Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale after 20 years (13 of them married), Hamm and Westfeldt are just the latest in a rash of long-term Hollywood couples calling it quits, which makes us wonder: Can any celeb couple really stand the test of time?
