Following the proliferation of the controversial sting videos created by the
Center for Medical Progress (CMP) depicting Planned Parenthood officials
negotiating the sale of fetal remains, one popular children's author decided to
stand up for Planned Parenthood by offering an impressive donation.
According to the New York Times, Daniel Handler, better known by his pen name Lemony Snicket, and
his wife (illustrator Lisa Brown) have pledged a $1 million donation to help
fund Planned Parenthood as Republicans lobby aggressively to cut its federal
Handler, the author of "A Series of Unfortunate Events" (his best known

We've been very fortunate, and good fortune should be shared with noble causes."
Handler is not the only big name standing beside Planned Parenthood as they
face public scrutiny. In fact, the Daily Signal has listed 38 major U.S. corporations who have publicly supported Planned Parenthood with funding including Liberty
Mutual, Microsoft, Converse and Starbucks.
