Country singer Jessie James Decker loves breastfeeding and she's not ashamed to show it. The crooner and her husband (New York Jets wide receiver Eric Decker) recently welcomed their first son to the world and the mom of two has been reveling in all the new baby snuggles. So when she posted a sweet shot on Instagram of 5-week-old Eric Thomas nursing while she lays down, she was surprised by all the haters out there.
The picture was captioned "Love being a mommy and feeding my sweet boy." While most comments were supportive in nature, there were, predictably, some people who were upset that Decker was choosing to share something so "personal" on social media or felt that she was exposing her breast in "public."
So the "Lights Down Low" singer decided to take a stand by posting a second breastfeeding picture with a clear message: "Here's a closer look to those accusing me of 'posing' this. Here's the shot I took before but thought maybe it was too visual. Now I don't care. Enjoy #normalizebreastfeeding."
This isn't the first time Decker has spoken out about this topic. She recently told American Baby magazine, "In photos of me nursing, there's probably less cleavage than what I've shown on the red carpet. ... Sharing breastfeeding photos online is a good example for other women who want to nurse. Nursing is hard. It doesn't always come easy and we need to support each other."
