Bobby Wesson is setting the bar high for husbands everywhere after he posted a loving and inspiring note about his wife, Rayena Wesson, a trauma nurse in Alabama, on Facebook earlier this month.
Accompanied by a photo of Rayena sleeping next to their toddler son, Bobby writes, "This is my wife taking a nap. In an hour, she will wake up, put on her scrubs and get ready for work."
In a post that has been shared more than 184,000 times on the social network, with more than 822,000 likes, Bobby describes the first part of her day that begins with getting ready, drinking coffee and playing with their son before she heads to a 14-hour shift filled with other people's emergencies.
"She will kiss the baby, she will kiss me and she will leave to go take care of people that are having the worst day of their entire lives. Car wrecks, gunshot wounds, explosions, burns and breaks—professionals, poor, pastors, addicts and prostitutes—mothers, fathers, sons, daughters and families—it doesn't matter who you are or what happened to you.
"She will take care of you," Bobby writes.
When she comes home, he continues, sometimes she'll want to talk about her day—and sometimes she won't.
But through everything, Bobby explains just how proud he is of the woman he married.
"My wife is a nurse," he writes. "My wife is a hero."
