Mark Zuckerberg Revolutionizes Paternity Leave

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla are expecting their first child, a daughter, and the new dad-to-be doesn't want to miss a single moment of it.

Zuckerberg announced on his personal Facebook page that he will be taking a two-month break when his daughter arrives.

The fact that one of the world's most powerful CEOs just announced that he's taking an eight-week paternity leave is a very big deal.

With the United States' abysmal family leave policies under fire and with almost half of all families living on a two-parent income, Zuckerberg is setting a very public example that hopefully others will soon follow.

With other tech companies like Netflix, Google and Amazon expanding their family leave policies, and arguably one of the most busy people in the world taking time off to bond with his family, this is hopefully just another message that's being sent that something's got to change.

And change big.

And not just for the Mark Zuckerbergs of the world, but for every working man and woman who wants to be able to provide for their family and spend time with them—particularly in the crucial baby days—in the same lifetime.
