People React to Brussels Lockdown With Cat Pics

Over the weekend, police in Belgium asked citizens to be vigilant due to the recent terrorist attacks in Paris and the fear that something could happen in their country. People were asked to stay home, keep away from windows and to avoid mentioning anything about current events on social media. But the way that Belgians responded was ingenious—they decided to flood social media with cat photos and the hashtag #BrusselsLockdown. Here are a few of those social media posts, courtesy of Popsugar.

Does your cat care that the nation is on high alert? Nope!

Cats love boxes, regardless of what's going on in the world.

That is a suspicious-looking almond cookie.

It's heartening to know that in the face of a high terror alert in Brussels, the Belgian people are still able to keep their humor. And it's also great that their cats are staying as chill as ever!
