'Dirty Dancing' Remake Gets New Star

"Dirty Dancing" is ready to give a whole new generation the time of their lives.

The uber-famous 1987 film starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey is being remade for TV and will star Abigail Breslin (aka "Little Miss Sunshine") as the lead character, Baby.

The three-hour "event" from Lionsgate TV will air on ABC, with no details yet on the date, according to TheWrap.

But not to worry. There reportedly will be song and dance performances—and, we're hoping, that amazing lift move.

If "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" isn't already playing in your head, there are even more songs that gained fame from the film about a teenage girl (Grey) who visits a summer resort with her parents and falls in love with the resort's dance instructor (Swayze). Remember "She's Like the Wind"? Or "Hungry Eyes"? Don't forget the vintage tunes—the movie takes place in the '60s, after all—"Love Is Strange" and "Be My Baby."

Cue the dirty dancing.

The adaptation will be executive produced by Allison Shearmur and Eleanor Bergstein, who wrote the screenplay for the film.
