Like a scene straight out of a movie, a woman in New Dehli, India, gave birth to her baby boy inside of a cab—an Uber, to be exact.
New mom Babli tells The Times of India she called for an Uber after her multiple calls to an emergency line for an ambulance went unanswered. The driver, Shahnawaz, showed up only to understand the full scope of the situation and agreed to take Babli and two of her friends to the nearest hospital.
He tells the paper, "The woman was writhing in pain and her friends did not know what to do. I pulled out the towels from the seats and poured some drinking water into a bowl. The child was born within minutes and I was really happy to see that he was responding."
After arriving at the hospital, Shahnawaz's heroics continued. "He picked me up, put me on a stretcher and dragged it into the hospital," reveals Babli.
Shahnawaz claims it was "one of the happiest moment of my life."
As a thank you, the mother's family wanted him to name the baby, so he did. After his employer, Uber. That's right, the world now was a real-life Uber in the mix.
We hope little Uber will at least get free rides for life.
