LG's New Black Stainless Steel Appliances Are Almost Too Cool for the Kitchen
byEricka SouterDec 17, 2015
Take an informal poll of parents about their
culinary skills and the responses will range from "queen of canned soup" to "Nigella Lawson wannabe." However, there is one universal truth when it comes to food
and family: We all long for that dream kitchen. We've all fantasized about having the kind of room
that makes your house the envy of every visitor.
The most important part of any
kitchen? Sure, counter tops and back splashes are important but nothing matters more than those big appliances. For the last decade, stainless steel
has been the most popular choice and it still is. Now the innovative folks at
LG have elevated the long-time favorite to a new level. The company recently
launched the Black Stainless Steel Series. That's right: Black. Stainless.
Steel. It's revolutionary to those of us who thought our only option would always
be a dusty gray.
To show how versatile the line is, LG asked HGTV "Design Star"
winners Emily Henderson and David
Bromstad to create kitchens around the sleek new designs. The results couldn't
have been more different. "David's is dark and sexy, mine is light and airy
just like our personalities," said Henderson. Amazingly, the Black Stainless Steel worked just as well with Bromstad's
contemporary kitchen as it did with her eclectic coastal look.
Lifestyle bloggers and readers will get a chance to create
their own dream kitchen in the LG Limitless Design contest. Two winners will receive a suite of LG Black
Stainless Steel Series appliances, $25,000 and a consultation with Emily
Henderson or David Bromstad to remodel their kitchens. For more details, check out the HGTV Contest.
