One mom in New South Wales, Australia, took time out on her wedding day to breastfeed her 13-month-old daughter, and photographer Danni Evans captured the magical moment for posterity.
Tayla Gillespie, who got married on January 9, wrote a post accompanying the photo on the Breastfeeding Mama Talk Facebook page, expressing her gratitude and explaining why it was so important for her to comfort her child.
"My daughter is 13 months old and I'm still breastfeeding on demand," she wrote. "This photo was taken about 15 minutes before I walked down the aisle to marry my best friend, I had just put my dress on and was getting my makeup touched up."
The photograph has garnered a lot of support on Facebook, with more than 16,000 likes and almost 1,000 shares.
"My daughter hadn't slept all day as she was with family and friends while we all got ready," Gillespie wrote in her post, "so in the final hours before the ceremony she came in and all she wanted was mummy. ... She does this because she loves and needs my comfort."
Gillespie even thanked Evans for capturing the special mother-daughter moment.
"I'm more than grateful for you capturing this moment because you know how much I cherish my breastfeeding bond with [R]ohzi," Gillespie posted on the photographer's Facebook page. "I'm glad we can share this with so many people as well ..."
