The Blizzard Hitting the East Coast Is No Joke

Winter storm Jonas is expected to dump enough snow and ice to cripple the East Coast, ranging from Washington, D.C. to New York City this weekend. Forecasters are saying some areas could get up to 30 inches of snow and suffer wind gusts up to 65 mph. But not everyone is feeling doom and gloom about it, as evidenced by jokers on Twitter who have concocted some pretty perfect memes for this exact situation.

The storm has been officially dubbed "Snowzilla" by the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang. Hope you weren't planning to go anywhere because thousands of flights have already been canceled ahead of the snowfall and public transit closures abound up and down the East Coast. The federal government even closed up shop to get home early.

Let's be real about what's probably going to happen.

Brace yourselves for the "Frozen" jokes.

Because the snow is coming!

Be prepared for anything.

Make sure you have appropriate provisions, of course.

But if you haven't been to the store yet ... well, you might be too late!

If you're trying to plan indoor activities, here's what you need to know:

Don't forget to bundle up if you have to go outside ... or at least bundle up the kids if you send them out to shovel!

All joking aside, be safe out there!
