PBS Kids to Launch Free 24/7 Channel

Your preschooler will soon have access to PBS Kids 24/7!

PBS announced this week that the media company will offer the kid-friendly PBS Kids, which airs shows such as "Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood" and "Wild Kratts," as a free channel on local stations across the country as well as on digital platforms later this year.

"The new PBS Kids 24/7 channel and live stream offered by local member stations ensure that educational media is available to all families, all the time, and via a platform that works for them," PBS President and CEO Paula Kerger said in a statement. "Given that 54 percent of all children nationwide do not have the opportunity to attend preschool, providing access is a critical element of our public service mission."

This change will offer more opportunities for children to catch educational and kid-friendly shows after school and in prime time on television, in addition to its digital offerings on pbskids.org.
